Morph is versatile knock-down furniture that can be used as a floor seat, a chair and a swing. The versatility is a critical feature of the furniture here as it can be morphed easily based on the user’s requirement & mood of the space. The form is inspired by enclosed flower petals that lend a warm touch and a cosy association with user. The inside structure has been built in aluminium in two separate parts and has been upholstered on the outside with ombre dyed felt fabric. The nut & bolt joint at the junction of the two parts allows for hanging the seat safely from top and can comfortably be used as a swing seat. The swing seat caters as a fun, joyful seat adds exuberance to the environment. A wooden member has been added to the base at the sides and can be transformed into a floor seat. The floor seat is relaxing and calming furniture which adds a tranquil to the place. To this form, legs can also be attached to the base and the form becomes a modern cushion chair. Since the furniture is completely knock-down, the three forms can be used alternatively whenever required.

Synergy is a furniture for community spaces and break-out areas that provide the scope for social interactions. The idea of the furniture came from the notion of drawing people together and enabling them to communicate freely by facing each other, thereby improving the scope of integrated interaction. When people sit on a bench in a public space or a breakout area, they don’t face each other and there is a key facialinteraction which gets hindered. Hence, I wanted to design a bench that allows people to face each other and communicate. Additionally, the furniture should appeal to the younger generation and should be inviting in itself to kick-start a conversation. Thus, the design is called as “Synergy” that defines my idea in one word.

Aquamatic is a storage that helps to organize electronics in a convenient and safe manner. The idea is to add multi utilitarian organizer specific to electronic products in a domestic space. The design process was helpful to understand the varied aspects of construction, compositional value, and material culture and to develop functional and ergonomic details, thereby leading to final development of aesthetics. There is a need to examine clutter: the seemingly disordered, unkempt array of electronic objects that are found around the home, almost invariably out of place and blocking the flow of everyday life. It was interesting to study the most used personal electronic products and create an organizer for them within our current space. The materials used are MDF, Chill pine wood, acrylic for drawer partition, Felt for drawer lining.

Indian neo-urban couples have started looking for sofas which are simplistic yet elegant. They want furniture which accentuates the simplistic and bare wooden aspects. Since wood is naturally beautiful, it adds character and warmth. Additionally, it offers exceptional value for money, especially compared with other high quality materials. It offers unique sustainable credentials as wood is a natural, renewable product.
